If you’ve had the honor of sharing your life with a creature or two, then you know they have a habit of burrowing into your heart, only to leave you shattered at end of their too-short existence. You understand that bearing that grief is the wretched price you pay for the years of boundless love, loyalty, and laughter. And you have no regrets.
